For over 25 years, Dave Collins has been providing alternative health care services to islanders. His international training has taken him across Canada , the United states and Asia. His wide range of training over a decade and which continues today, has lead him to a diverse and wholistic approach to healing. He holds a doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture and a Doctorate in Natural Medicine (DNM.).
His background includes Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture, Medical Acupuncture, and a variety of natural medicine approaches such Naturopathy, Homeopathy, Applied Nutrition, prescribed nutraceuticals and supplementation, body work, allergy desensitization, and more. His clinic is general practice and he is often successful in helping his patients with pain, inflammation, digestive disturbances, headaches, neck and back problems, allergies etc. Many of the services are covered by your extended health care benefits.

A medical & health history is taken and reviewed. Consultation and evaluation for your presenting health concerns begins. A treatment plan is discussed and explained. A classical or medical acupuncture treatment is designed to fit your needs and administered during this first visit. If appropriate, suggestions of applied nutritional adjustments may be recommended along with prescribed nutraceuticals . This approach provides the most comprehensive treatment process for optimal results.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) assessments are used to determine the state of health or dis-ease . A range of acupuncture styles and approaches are used to provide you with treatment that will assist your body to return to a state of well being and balance. Advanced (TCM) acupuncture not only treats physical pain, but also addresses the scope of internal health imbalances such as digestive, mental health, respiratory & sinus, allergy issues etc.
This treatment begins with assessment then appropriate HEAT or COLD therapy, follow by localized soft tissue manipulations and cupping when appropriate. These initial steps prepare the body for optional results with a variety of acupuncture techniques.
